I attached images of the small dog park. There is nowhere to run or play ball because it is overgrown with weeds. It is so thick in there that I couldn't find my dog and I heard a strange sound from the middle of the forest. My puppy had found a bird and was eating it and I couldn't get to her because it was so thick I had to wait for her to finish the bird... It's a nice idea to have a small dog park for little dogs to not get injured and plowed over in the big park which was what was happening. But if it's not going to be cared for or have areas to walk with your dog except for the concrete strip in the middle, it's almost like a waste of space. Space that could be very valuable and helpful for people who want to exercise their dogs and may not have their own yard. Please help keep this area nice and not overgrown with thorny plants and invasive species. Whoever has the power to keep this area useful to the community. Please do that! Also, I have lost three chuckit balls and one tennis ball because it is impossible to find the ball for the dog. Once I throw it in it lands and the big brush.
The new updates to the park entrance are great! The trails are well-maintained, and there is a lot of space for dogs to run around.
Very large park. The Front entrance was stinky and very rocky grounds but once you pass that it's much nicer and very beautiful trees all around. A large area to explore. Not too far in was a pond the dogs could play in.
The BEST dog park! Besides having an open area to run and play like any other dog park, there are tons of trails, little beaches at ponds, lots of forest, and best of all, it never feels crowded.
Everyone is super friendly with lots of regulars. The dogs have always been well behaved/well guided by their owners. The park is super clean, people really love the area so it’s cared for!
TIPS:
- I DO NOT recommend it for folks with lower mobility as the terrain can be a little challenging.
- Make sure your dog will come on recall or you can definitely lose them in this huge park.
I absolutely love this dog park. There is a separate gated area where the dogs can enjoy some water play or you can avoid it if you want. The trail is so pretty and many different areas where you can sit and let your pup play. I have only witnessed one aggressive jack Russell type dog here which honestly the owners shouldn't be taking there but who am I to judge... my pup loves going here.
Such a fun dog park! Mostly a wooded area and there’s a pond or two. You’re dog will probably get dirty there but I think it’s worth it
One of the best dog parks that I have ever been to. The park is huge and is filled with a large variety of beautiful trails. There are lots of garbage bins around as well which is very convenient. There are multiple places where your dog can splash around in the water if they enjoy that.
It’s tough to say whether this or Minnehaha dog park is better. Both are amazing and you can’t go wrong with either. At Minnehaha you have to pay for parking (which can also be hard to find), and you also have to pay for a dog permit. At this park parking is plentiful and free, and there is no fee to enter. Minnehaha I found had some more scenic areas by the Mississippi River. If you’re trying to decide between the two like I was, rest assured that both are wonderful dog parks and you can’t go wrong with either!
Our favorite dog park. Especially in the winter. Water access in the warmer months so be prepared for a wet dog. No small dog area here. Lots of trails all the way through.
